LED Light Lamp
A physical structure built to showcase my love for the environment.
Individual Academic Project
Green living is central in my life. I wanted to translate that into the aesthetics of my surroundings.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Sustainability is the core of the way that I live my life. I am vegan, an avid hater of fast fashion, and very handy with a metal straw. This project had very simple specifications, build something of a certain height and incorporate LED lights into the final structure. Through that, I wanted to build something that reflected my style and my values in my environment.
THE PROLOGUE
I was inspired by historic cave paintings and wanted to play with light and shadow in my physical-making process to add dimensionality to the piece. Throughout the design process, I created symbols of natural elements that were inspired by the simplicity of cave paintings.
The end result of this project was a 4-foot-tall lamp created utilizing the laser cutter, a few saws, and my hands. I created a product that was sturdy, made out of sustainable materials, and reflects the way I live my life.
